Challenge
The Jewellery Discounter needed its established online store rebuilt on Shopify while retaining the functionality expected from a mature e-commerce business. The new storefront had to support a large catalogue, clear product discovery, promotions, responsive shopping and the operational integrations behind checkout and delivery.
Strategy
I rebuilt the storefront around Shopify's theme architecture and created a reusable structure for collections, product pages, promotional content and cart interactions. The goal was to make the store easier to maintain while keeping the shopping experience consistent across desktop and mobile.
Design Approach
The interface combines strong jewellery imagery with clear navigation, collection browsing, product filtering and responsive layouts. Custom Liquid and JavaScript extend Shopify where the standard theme behaviour was not enough.
Implementation
The store is built on Shopify using custom Liquid, JavaScript and theme components. I implemented and maintained storefront behaviour across navigation, collections, filters, product pages, variants, cart interactions and promotional features, alongside payment and shipping integrations.
The Jewellery Discounter is an established jewellery retailer with a large catalogue spanning earrings, rings, bracelets, necklaces, anklets and customizable products.
I rebuilt the online store on Shopify, working across the complete customer-facing storefront rather than a single feature or page.
Custom Liquid and JavaScript were used throughout the theme to extend Shopify’s standard behaviour and support the specific requirements of the store. This included collection and product presentation, promotional logic, variant behaviour and interactions around the shopping journey.
