Challenge
ABN AMRO uses Planon for workplace-service forms such as parking, furniture requests and meeting-room bookings. JavaScript was managed across individual forms, making shared functionality harder to maintain and update consistently.
Strategy
I centralized shared and form-specific JavaScript into one library, then designed a secure Azure delivery path for changes across test, acceptance and production.
Design Approach
Reusable modules and a lightweight loader allowed Planon forms to load centrally managed functionality based on their active context.
Implementation
Azure Storage hosted the library with private endpoints and secured access. Bicep provisioned the storage infrastructure, managed identity, RBAC and Key Vault integration, while Azure DevOps automated deployments and controlled the environments.
ABN AMRO relied on Planon for a range of workplace services, but JavaScript behavior was maintained across individual forms. As the number of forms and shared requirements grew, updating the same functionality in multiple places became harder to manage and created unnecessary duplication.
I designed a centralized JavaScript library that separated reusable functionality from form-specific code. A lightweight loader identified the active Planon context and loaded the required scripts from the shared library, giving forms access to common behavior without embedding the full implementation separately.
The delivery architecture had to work within ABN AMRO’s secured Azure environment. I provisioned Blob Storage and private networking with Bicep, automated deployments through Azure DevOps and used approval gates for acceptance and production. I also built the supporting documentation so other developers could create forms, use shared functions and understand the deployment workflow.
